Christmas Housekeeper Wanted!

Well, due to an operator error (I won’t say which operator but it might be me), my pre-order is now alive and well on retailers for my new Christmas story!

The First in the new Heaven’s Gate series!

https://books2read.com/u/mZpjwD

Christmas Undercover: A spirited housekeeper, a brooding highlander, and a holiday wrapped in mystery.

Lucerne MacNamara has a problem only a Christmas miracle can solve. Her agency’s housekeepers are fleeing from Darro MacCandish’s remote Heaven’s Gate estate, leaving her business teetering on the edge. Facing a damning lawsuit, her last resort is to disguise herself as just another employee to face the surly highlander head-on.

In the depths of the Scottish Highlands, Darro MacCandish is a man with little patience for incompetence, demanding a housekeeper who can handle his home’s chaos and his children’s needs. If Lucerne MacNamara can’t deliver on her contract and provide him with a competent employee for the holidays, then he’ll have her in court on Christmas day if that’s what it takes.

As Lucerne braves the winter chill and Darro’s icy demeanor, she delves deeper into the tangled web of deceit and frayed relations that turn up way more than she bargained for.

Amid the stark beauty of the highlands and the warmth of holiday cheer, will she discover the truth behind her employees’ discontent and mend a heart as forbidding as the landscape? Or will the secrets she uncovers ignite a yuletide showdown that will change their lives forever?

Warning: This book does have a little spanking and edge-of-your-seat suspense, as well as a possible need for a handkerchief. If you don’t like those things, avoid them at all costs!

All the best to you and your families during this holiday season.

Anniversary Sale On My First Indie Book!

My very first published book is going wide and will be on sale for most of the holidays. Can’t believe it’s going on three years since I first published A Lass Worth Fighting For!

Tragedy is an old acquaintance of Kellina Duncan and Forbes MacColloch, both bearing the scars of their pasts. When their worlds collide, can love’s power mend their shattered spirits?

If Forbes had been able to get a word in edgeways, he would have been too shell-shocked to speak. Held captive, his mind screamed danger as he helplessly wheeled along behind her gently weaving buttocks. He was fascinated at the enchanting way they undulated in her snug denim jeans. In the kitchen, she bent down to put the eggs in the drawer and set the milk on the shelf.

Entranced, he watched the material go tight, his todger desperately trying to stand at attention. He felt the sudden intense urge to reach out and caress, or smack the rounded globes presented so enticingly. He wanted to lay her down on the floor and make her his in every sense of the word.

His breath caught.

Alert!

This was dangerous ground, and never in a million years had he thought he’d be walking it again. He didn’t realize how close he’d gotten until she stepped backward and tripped on his feet, thereby landing her luscious bottom directly in his lap.

His hands automatically reached out to steady her, one muscled arm going around her narrow waist to keep her from falling. The scent of her long chocolate curls wafted into his sensitive nostrils. He couldn’t quite place the luscious smell, but it seemed a cross between home-baked bread and ginger.

Damn, she felt so good on his broad thighs, fitting snugly into his arms like she was made for him.

“Oh,” she gasped. Her gray eyes with their purplish heather flecks widened when she twisted in his lap and their gaze met.

“P… pardon me, I didna expect ye to be right behind me!”

She scrambled off his lap and stood there, her chest heaving as she twisted her slender fingers together. “I hope I didna hurt ye!”

His todger suddenly went limp, as if sad at her departure, and his lips twisted in defensive derision. “Dinna ye ever stop talking, lass?”

The change from contrition to fire was immediate, and her bonnie eyes flashed.

“Someone has to keep a conversation going; yere like talking to a bump on the proverbial log,” she replied with a huff.

One small foot encased in a leather boot tapped a rhythmic tattoo on the floor, expending an energy that seemed to keep her curvaceous figure constantly moving.

“Do ye have me payment ready?  I need to be getting to my next delivery.”

“And here I thought ye were worried about hurting me. Have ye forgotten so quickly?”  His tone was mocking now. “But then I guess ‘tis always money first with women, eh?”

“I guess the same could be said for men and sex,” she replied sweetly, not missing a beat. “Money can be important for a woman when a lazy lay-about won’t pull his own weight.”

Her eyes sparkled in a challenge. To his amazement, they sparkled with everything but pity. And they were drop-dead gorgeous.

“And sex can be just as important when a man can’t get no lovin’ from a cold fish,” he stated boldly with an exaggerated American West slang.

“Maybe ye should try a woman instead of a fish,” she shot back.

“Are ye volunteering?” He cursed himself for that remark. No way he was getting involved with anyone again.

She shook her head, hair falling in curly waves about her shoulders and layering across the top of her pink-checked, button-down shirt. “As tempting as ye might be, I’m afraid I’m committed elsewhere.  Ye’ll have to go a-huntin’.”

Forbes shot her a sardonic grin. “I dinna have to do the hunting, they come to me.”

One delicate brow shot up. “If that’s true, then ye better be staying off the ledge instead of out there, acting like Snoopy on a limb. One of them might be pushing ye over after getting a taste of yere hospitality.”

“Snoopy on a limb?” For the first time since the accident, Forbes fought the urge to chuckle.

“Or hanging morosely over the edge of his dog house, whichever ye prefer,” she added with a smug grin.

His sense of humor felt another tickle.

“And here I thought of myself as Edgar Allen Poe’s dark raven, giving ye the evil eye off me precarious perch.”

He watched in fascination as Kellina snorted, her lips twitching, and then she broke into a peal of laughter. It was like the sun breaking through the clouds on a rainy day, enveloping you in its warmth, inside and out. He couldn’t help the crooked, not been used since forever, grin that stole across his own mouth. He had to admit, she had a quick wit. She was also the first person he’d met who didn’t send him furtive glances of pity and sympathy; she just took him at face value.

It was ridiculously refreshing.

“Aye, ye do resemble a raven more than Snoopy, I’ll give ye that, Poe, but I really have to be going. I’ve got a schedule to keep, and I’m running a tad late as it ‘tis. If ye dinna know anything about my payment, I’ll collect it from Corny when he gets back. Ye have nae need to worry about it.”

She whipped around him then and headed for the front door. He followed her just so he could watch her delicious butt cheeks undulate once again.

“Dinna be late again, Kellina. There are consequences for tardiness, ye know.” Why the devil that had slipped out he couldn’t fathom unless her nicely rounded bottom was to blame.

She whipped her head back around the door, her beautiful eyes flashing once again. “I’ll be late if I’ve got a mind too, Poe. It’s my own schedule I keep—or not keep. And there’s nary a damn thing ye can do about it!”

Unable to help himself, Forbes quickly wheeled out the patio door and across the concrete where he could get a glimpse of her headed down the rocky path to the main road below.

Corny’s cottage was on a blasted precipice! Her neat figure was sure-footed, her long curls waving in the air behind her. She disappeared all too quickly, leaving him to wonder ….more

If you haven’t read this second-chance holiday romance, you are in for a treat. Perhaps some of my Scottish slang wasn’t quite up to what’s considered normal today, given how cultures progress, but I like to see how far I’ve come in my writing career. And if you’ve been following me and enjoy my spanking romances, then perhaps you do too.

A huge thank you to my readers for sticking with me as I’ve published over a dozen more books independently, not to mention the paperback version in many of those. The journey so far has been fun and I’ve learned a ton of new stuff on the way, and am still learning more. Without readers, it wouldn’t be possible to continue doing something I love.

THANK YOU! Hugs, Brandy

Follow me on my LinkTree for everything to do with my books from ARCs to my newsletter with a free download, and more. I’m a work in progress and love every step of the journey.

Well…except for marketing. I hate that…I’m just no good at it. But I keep working on it! 🙂

He took the chair and rested one palm on his knee and his forearm across the table, watching her. “So, where’s your man? Sleeping in?”

His voice was deep and gravelly and Cassidy liked it, even if she didn’t like his tone.

“He got called away on business but he’ll be back,” she replied coolly.

“He left you alone?” The voice was disbelieving.

“Am I in danger here?” Cassidy’s eyebrow rose to the natural challenge this man generated within her.

He chuckled. “A beautiful woman should never be left on her own, she can get up to too much mischief.”

“And we know how you’d take care of that, don’t we?” Cassidy could have bitten her tongue the minute the words left her mouth, but it was too late to take them back. What on earth had prompted her to say that?

“Ah, a quick study, I like that.”

The corner of his mouth quirked up in amusement, stirring up Cassidy’s dormant temper at the same time. She was a girl that was usually slow to anger, but for some unknown reason, this man brought out the defiant in her. She wanted to challenge him, to call his bluff regarding his outrageous views.

What if it isn’t a bluff? Her wayward thoughts reminded her. He could be for real. Not! Her eyes flashed mutinously at him.

“I wouldn’t do it if I were you.” His warning was encased in velvet but his own eyes returned her steady gaze, green flames licking her as surely as if he had reached out and touched her. Cassidy felt herself go hot and then she shivered, startled at the fact that he seemed to know what she had been thinking.

“Do what?” she huffed. Her muscles felt tense and strained, her every nerve focused on the cowboy facing her.

He leaned forward, his face inches from hers, his lean body easily crossing the circumference of the small table. She refused to shrink back although every hair on her arms and neck stood on end as if rising to greet him. Even her nipples felt erect and she resented that fiercely.

“You want to challenge me,” he replied softly so that only she could hear. “You are dying to find out if I would really put you over my knee…

New Release!

Taming His Honeydoll is live today!

I’m super excited about this new romantic suspense novel. I’m really loving getting into the action and mystery side of things with this series. I’ve always loved a good mystery, and combined with a fun romance, it’s even better.

Taming His Honeydoll

Enjoy this excerpt:

“This time we are going to settle this once and for all,” he retorted, carrying her easily towards the barn. “This time you are going to listen to me, baby brat, even if I have to spank you tonight.”

Emma pounded his back with her fists but he didn’t even seem to notice. “Let go of me,” she screamed.

“If you don’t want to get my mom involved, then keep it down,” he warned as he opened the barn door and stepped inside.

The warm smell of animals, hay, and fluids from lawnmowers and other equipment inside assailed her nose. He strode with her towards somewhere she couldn’t see after he flipped the light on inside the door. Horse stalls came into view and an orange barn cat skittered from beneath his feet and jumped up on the stall of a white horse that nickered in greeting. Finally, he sat her on her feet and held her by the forearms.

She was panting and trembling, trying to catch her breath. Partly from his muscles pushing into her stomach and cutting off easy airflow and partly from the touch of his hands and body against hers.

“You can’t just…just manhandle me like that,” she complained.

One dark blond brow slid skyward. “I believe I just did, and I’m going to do it again if you don’t simmer down.”

“I don’t want to talk to you, I have nothing more to say. But if you insist on yammering my ears into the ground, then get it over with.” She folded her arms and stared at the horses behind him, her attitude saying she had no intention of listening.

“Enough.” He grabbed her forearms again and shot her a look that said he was out of patience. “What we have here is a *refusal *to communicate.”

He put emphasis on the word refusal. “You may be safe from a head down, over my lap butt-warming because of your head injury, but you just earned an attitude adjustment for being an uncooperative brat.”

“What are you…” Emma’s words were cut off when Sawyer propped his foot up on the hay bale seat and….read more

“What are you doing in my car?”

Ty looked up and saw the incredulous face of the little window washer. She looked furious as she marched right up between the cars to face him from the other side of the car door.

“I was just…”

“You were trying to steal my stereo?” She faced him accusingly. A quick glance told her that her stereo was halfway out. “What are you?  A kleptomaniac?  Because you can’t be stealing for money.”  She stared derisively at his expensive suit and watch.

“I was not stealing…”

“Don’t bother lying,” she scoffed, cutting him off again.  “The evidence speaks for itself.”

Ty slammed the door shut, removing the barrier between her and him. “Do you ever stop talking?” he asked, his words like biting cuts in the evening air. “Because I’ve had just about enough of your mouth, little spitfire. Someone needs to teach you a good lesson in manners.”

Chessy looked up at him, the thought finally occurring to her that they were alone in the parking lot, and there was no one around to stop him from strangling her. She backed up a few steps, hating to back down, but she didn’t know whom she was dealing with here. He was obviously a thief and a spy—he might be a murderer, for all she knew.

“D…don’t come any closer,” she replied, her voice wobbling suddenly. She held her hand out in front of her as if to ward him off. She squeaked when he grabbed it and pulled her in closer to him. “Let go of me…oomph.”

Ty wrapped his other hand in the long strawberry strands and bent to pillage the fruit of her delicate lips, holding her in place easily as she struggled. Finally, when she stilled, he looked down into her bemused green eyes. “Have I got your attention now?”

Chessy was still mentally wading through a passion-drugged stream, struggling for a foothold. She didn’t have the ability to answer him. She had never been kissed like this before and her brain was still trying to catch up with her body’s reactions. She stared mutely up at him, wondering if he was going to strangle her now. She could see the headlines—woman strangled with no apparent struggle.

“Good. I can see that I have.”  Ty answered his own question, but his hand had a slight tremor as he let go of her wrist to reach up and touch her silent lips. Never had a kiss shaken him up so much. He tried to push aside the unexpected desire to take her back to his home and into his bed.

“I’m NOT a thief. Someone was breaking into your car and I interrupted them, that’s all.” He traced the outline of the soft pink protrusions and continued. “Nor am I the corporate spy that your overworking imagination has conjured up.”

He put his hand over her mouth when she opened it to finally speak. “I’m also a man who has come nearly to the end of his patience with you. My instincts right now are to turn you over my knee, bare your sassy butt, and spank the living daylights out of you.”

Ty watched as her green eyes shot pure fire at him, but he continued, his hand still over her mouth. “However, this is not the time or the place. But mark my words, spitfire—it’s coming.”

He dropped his hand then and turned to walk away, feeling very confused with one heck of a bulge in his pants. He needed to put some space and distance between them. She was watching him as he started his car, looking as shell-shocked as he felt.

“And next time, lock your car door because that’s going on the list of transgressions I’m going to take out of your backside,” he spat out his window as he drove off.

Chessy finally realized she was holding her breath, and she let it escape from between the lips he had so thoroughly ravaged. She lifted her fingers in silent wonder to touch them as she leaned against her car for support.

If this wasn’t a fine kettle of fish!

This man was the enemy, one of the wealthy and privileged, a sneak, and…and a bloody good kisser. She sighed and opened her car door. “Saints preserve us,” she muttered. “I think I’m falling for him.”

Sawyer saw the three he was keeping an eye on stand up and he turned to see if Oliver was coming back. Then he saw her and the years fell away.

Emma!

Avidly he inspected her, his eyes roving and noting every change, no matter how small. Her beautiful, slender figure was a bit fuller in the hips and in her breasts where her mass of tumbled honey locks rested. Her gorgeous eyes were just as he remembered but he didn’t see rejection there—he saw the same raw longing that engulfed him.

Heedless of who was watching, he strode towards her as she flew to him and jumped into his arms like she used to, her legs curling around his waist. He held her beneath her buttocks with one arm and the other around her back.

“Emma,” he whispered into her ear, the sweet smell of honeysuckle tendrils floating up from her neck and hair. “God, I’ve missed you so much!”

They were oblivious to the people around them as she held his face in her soft palms while they kissed the world away. Then she slowly leaned back and smiled at him. She knew he’d never let her fall, no matter how many times he’d pretended to drop her in the past. Regret coursed through him when he realized he had let her fall though, just in a different way.

“I can’t believe you’re here,” she said tremulously, her gorgeous eyes damp.

“I’m never leaving you again,” he vowed. “And I can’t wait to meet Levi.”

Something flickered in her eyes and she seemed to withdraw. When she wriggled against him and dropped her long legs from around his waist, he reluctantly let her slide down his body until her feet touched the ground.

“You know about Levi?” she croaked, her eyes suspiciously bright.

He nodded, keeping her in the circle of his arms. “It’s a long story, and this isn’t the place for it, but I do know,” he said softly. “What I don’t know, is why you didn’t tell me yourself?”

“Let me ask you this,” she retorted softly. “If you hadn’t known about Levi, would you still be here?”
